Communication is critical during emergencies and it is important for all people, including people who do not use verbal communication, to be able to communicate with first responders. Temple University’s Institute on Disability has a two-page emergency communications tool in English and Spanish and the UConn Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities has a flip book with communications tools.
